Gorey, Gruesome & Gorgeous

WARNING: The evidence of this night of blood-soaked burlesque and life drawing is not for the faint of heart. The images are graphic, so proceed with caution... and excitement!

October - what month could be more apt for a gore theme. The Christchurch Sketchy Girls embraced their dark demented side and got their gore on, a perfect start to Halloween weekend. Goodbye Blue Monday was once again host to a full house of eager art monkeys for our fifth session.

Our models this month were a gruesome twosome – the wonderful Gracie Hart (who previously starred in July's retro sci-fi night), and our very own headmistress Tawdry Trainwreck.

Deputy Reckless ensured the booze was flowing, mostly down her own throat, to loosen up any art monkeys with inhibitions about what was in store. We had warned everyone this night was not for the faint of heart!

MC Hells Belle was our hostess for this eve. She wore her heart on her bosom, literally.

The atmosphere was more mysterious and intimate than ever - in our secret lab the walls were lined with plastic and the windows were all blocked, ensuring prying eyes did not catch a glimpse of this insanity!

Tawdry embraced her mad scientist role as she brought her creation to life. Both adoringly and maniacally, sniffing the embalming fluid and snipping away bandages. She even had a mid-operation snack on some juicy gummy guts.

We even had boylesque… of sorts. Skindependent joined us for a very special performance. Eden pierced his own neck in the back room, before carrying out a live on-stage throat piercing.

The boys then posed tied together with tension ropes. This was definitely not for the squeamish. Some people had to walk away, while others moved closer for gorey perving pleasure.

Our girls were pleased with their catches of the night.

In their second performance things got messy. Gracie Hart starting to tear off her bandages.

And then Tawdry got involved … and so did some blood.

The performance was breathtaking and our girls were left bloody gorgeous after a saucy make-out session.

In true gore style a chainsaw was there to rev up the evening and provide a spectacular final pose of the night.

Tawdry Trainwreck loved her mad scientist tools. We loved her awesome mangled boobs - torn apart by the make up artist at Blood Soaked Candy.

BLOOD-SOAKED BURLESQUE & LIFE DRAWING

WARNING: This month's session is NOT for the faint of heart.

The Sketchy Girls of Christchurch are all set to get their gore on. Tawdry Trainwreck will embrace disgusting, horrid themes and then smother them with blood, guts, and fishnets. Gracie Hart will be terrorised and torn apart in Tawdry's attempts to create the perfect woman for you to draw.

To further titillate your sick little minds, there will be a special performance by skindependent. Hooks will be sharp, flesh will be quivering, spines will be tingling.

This is a life drawing class like no other. Drinking! Drawing! Debauchery! Meat! Flesh! Blood! Boobs!

IV: Bacchanalian Night of Revelry

After a month of disaster, ruin and hundreds (no, really hundreds!) of aftershocks we were all ready for some uplifting sketchy revelry. The luscious demigoddess Lucille L'amour played muse for our hedonistic art monkeys in attendance.


The wine was flowing (as well as the Bodgie Beer for those more hops-inclined) to encourage indulgent misbehavior and toga staining.

Ms. Rosie Reckless cavorts with a myseterious trader from The East, what wonders does she bring to the table?

MC Hells Belle channelled the gorgon medusa and transfixed the audience with her many snakey gazes.

The devine Lucille L'amour

Debauched noblewoman, entrancing vision and feast for our art monkeys eyes... Lucille L'amour performs her routine to Grecian lounge music.

Our sketchers were adorned with vine wreaths and bedazzling jewels. They were affectionately harassed by the mischievous satyr in attendance - Billy Goat Elliot. He spent the night capering about Goodbye Blue Monday, tooting on pan-pipes and spreading merriment.

Lucille managed to escape without getting her leg humped by that rascally Billy. No mean feat!

Headmistress Tawdry Trainwreck shocked us all by keeping most of her body clad this eve. She'll be sure to make up for that at next month's Dr. Sketchy's… because our next event will be all about the GORE.

Dr. Sketchy's IV: Bacchanalia! A Night of Ancient Revelry

Thousands of years ago, in the time of the toga, the ancient people of Greece and Rome would gather in groves and celebrate, often for days on end.

With our city in ruins around us, we have the perfect excuse for hedonistic excess. Join us for a night of bacchanalian revelry, where we'll invoke the gods of wine and indulgence. We'll partake in sketching rituals and draw upon ancient myths and legends.

Speaking of legends, our toga clad muse and performer is Lucille L'Amour. Her burlesque theatrics will surely please the gods, sparing our city from further decay. Come to drink, to draw … and to worship her.

This is a life drawing class like no other. Drinking! Drawing! Debauchery!

Frilly Knicker Fundraiser

Here in Christchurch we are running themed events that are a twisted and alternative take on life drawing. Our models are sexy burlesque performers and once a month we gather to drink and to draw. We keep our ticket prices low ($10) and don't aim to make a profit.

But now, we've run up debt with the frilly knicker shop! Uh-oh! So it's time to do some fundraising.

Talented Christchurch artist Gussie Fenton has kindly donated this artwork. Gussie Fenton is known for painting strong, sexy female figures and has been inspired by the antics of Dr. Sketchy's to create a punky yet sweet character named Cupcake. Her striking colours have been created with acrylics and she measures 71 x 56cm.

Quake

Fellow Sketchy fiends,

Our city was hit by a 7.1 magnitude earthquake early on Saturday 4th September. We're pleased to report there were no fatalities (with the exception of one of the zoo's lemurs) and all of the sketchy crew are intact.

Some of our local Art Monkeys have been badly affected. Many have lost their homes, and it's sad to see some of Christchurch's iconic historic buildings in ruins. Some areas are battling broken sewage pipes and contaminated water supplies. It's not safe to drink from the tap so we're sensibly sticking to alcohol.

Our beloved hosts, Goodbye Blue Monday, have withstood the tremors with all their whiskey safe and sound. This part of the city is badly shaken up (hrrmm?!). The CBD is still cordoned off but initial reports suggest that GBM should be back to business hopefully by the weekend.

Sponsors Absolution and The Flying Burrito Brother's have also withstood the rumble. We're waiting anxiously to hear how Madam Butterfly's Vintage Style Boutique have fared.

Our next event is scheduled for Thursday 23rd September. We're pretty sure all will go ahead as planned but will update you if this changes.
