Talk Nerdy To Me

It was a night of drinking, drawing, dorks and dweebs as Dr Sketchy's once again descended upon the local Bowling Club for a theme very close to our hearts – Talk Nerdy to Me.

Our stars for the evening were the delectable Princess Pi and Ernest Member; our hypothesis proved correct and they had us enthralled with their chemistry and hilarity on stage.

Lab. coats were in abundance and there was plenty of plaid as our art monkeys were welcomed by the nerdilicious Rosie Reckless.

Bizarre love triangle.

A cute angle.

Tawdry offered both touch typing temptation and tripping hazards!

Princess Pi showed she had algorythm and removed her algebra!

Ernest's attempts to resist Pi's SUPERb nerdiness were futile.

Art monkeys sketched keenly.

Our audience designed covers for various text books that Ernest and Pi may have needed.

Ernest's bringin' Sixties back. Stylophones: Sexy

Full frontal nerdity!

Ernest played both keyboard and stylophone in order to find the courage to invite Princess Pi over for a seductive game of Boggle.

Ernest may have miscalculated the result of this social experiment...

Another night of succesful sketching and far too many geeky in-jokes left us all grinning as usual. A mega thanks to our wonderful photographers, Ryan Franicevic and Paige Turner, and of course our wonderful sponsors (you keep our drives hard): Absolution Tattoo and Body Piercing, Madame Butterfly's Vintage Style Boutique and our international sponsor Baby Tattoo Books.

Date Night Jitters set our hearts aflutter

It was a very happy reunion between the Sketchy Girls and Art Monkeys of Christchurch. We'd been on hold for a few months – plotting, planning and venue hunting in our quakey ol' town.

We went ahead with the much anticipated Dr. Sketchy's debut of Harlow Lestrange in 'Date Night Jitters'. Our new hosts for the evening were the fabulous and hospitable folk at the Canterbury Bowling Club.

The mesmerising Harlow Lestrange starred in our voyeuristic take on date night primping and preening.

Her sultry good looks set our hearts a-throbbing.

Our audience settled right into our new (if unorthodox) haunt. The Canterbury Bowling Club president didn't quite know what to expect, but soon joined the ranks of Dr. Sketchy fans!

We invited everyone to come dressed to impress with their most striking date night attire.

And what a turn out! Seductive boudoir minxes, several well suited suitors, a BDSM mistress and one irresistibly adorable attendee in a dinosaur onesie. Our Art Monkeys all vied for the best dressed award.

Harlow's first performance for the evening – what's a girl to wear?!

Luscious locks at the ready and pout perfected. Harlow sat back and waited for her dream date to make an entrance.

Under dressed? Never.

Harlow shook off some nerves with an energetic and enthralling hoop performance!

Hooplah ooh la laa!

A well earned beer completes this picture – drinking, drawing and dames!

Our best dressed suitor was the lucky recipient of a voucher from Absolution Tattoo and Body piercing... as well as some special treatment from Harlow!

Some 'post-it'-modern art that we feel illustrates Sketchy antics rather well!

It was a fabulous night of debauchery much-missed by the Christchurch Sketchy Girls, we are incredibly happy to be back in operation. For more photos of this session, perv on our facebook album!

We would like to thank our new-found hosts at the Canterbury Bowling Club and, as ever, our sweet-heart sponsors – Absolution Tattoo and Body Piercing, Madame Butterfly's Vintage Style Boutique and our international sponsor Baby Tattoo Books.

WE'RE GOING AHEAD WITH "DATE NIGHT JITTERS" WHICH WAS ORIGINALLY SCHEDULED IN FEBRUARY BUT SADLY POSTPONED. PLEASE NOTE WE'VE GOT A NEW LOCATION THIS MONTH: THE CANTERBURY BOWLING CLUB.

Harlow Lestrange stars in DATE NIGHT JITTERS.

Harlow's getting ready for a hot first date! But before such a highly anticipated night, she's got to get herself looking her best. She's got butterflies in her stomach, curlers in her hair, and a fresh coat of polish on her nails. Come along and sketch the primping, preening and preparation.

She'll umm and ahh over outfits and shake off those nerves with a performance or two.

As for you? We recommend you come dressed to impress! Don your most striking "date attire". Best dressed suitors in the audience could win prizes… and our hearts.

Dr. Sketchy's is a life drawing class like no other - drinking, drawing and dames!

We're extremely sad to farewell our beloved venue Goodbye Blue Monday. For this month's event we invite you along to the Canterbury Bowling Club. Show them your support for hosting us by indulging in some cheap jugs… and buying some beer. ;)

Dr. Sketchy's February: A Day at the Seaside

A sandy seaside set set the scene for our seaside themed sketchy's in February (say that 6x fast!). We celebrated some summer lovin' by welcoming back the glorious Gracie Hart.

Sunsmart and sizzling; she shone on stage.

Our beach bombshell spots some art monkeys ahoy!

Our guest model from the far north land of Para. Roy Buoy adored Gracie from every angle.

Gracie Hart, the seaside siren who stole ours.

Our art monkeys outdid themselves this time – all sorts of naughty-cal attire surfaced!

A surprise appearance by Pammy Andieson kept Baywatch fans happy...

Pammy was pumped to pose with Gracie. Her potruding assets proving to be quite a palmful...

Wardrobe malfunctions soon put an end to any stage stealing attempts!

Breast *cough* we mean BEST dressed was awarded based on Gracie's favourite swimming style. No surprises that a cheeky breaststroke won hoots n hollers from the audience... and the coveted voucher for Madame Butterfly's Vintage Style Boutique.

Gracie tantaslises us all as she slip slop slaps into something more... sketchable...

Dreamy!

Parasol twirling perfection.

This may not be the most efficient way of wearing sunscreen... but the abstract expressionist references combined with sunsmart sentiments had our hearts aflutter!

It was an action packed night of sketchy carousing. Roy Buoy's staying power left us all a bit deflated... but he was a bit of an airhead anyway!

A huge thanks, as always to our sponsors - Absolution Tattoo and Body Piercing, Madam Butterfly's Vintage Style Boutique, The Flying Burrito Brothers and Baby Tattoo Books.

For further seaside frolicking photos, head to our Facebook album!

Dr Sketchy November: Heavy Petting

For our November session we indulged in a spot of purr-lesque. Mia Sophia was our divine feline and graced the stage at Goodbye Blue Monday for a night of purrs, furs and kitty mischief.

This was a theme made for our cat-crazy crew and MC Hell's Belle sunk her claws right into it. Rosie; our cheeky canine caused general mischief and mayhem throughout the night (don't fall for her puppy dog eyes!).

Our dedicated photographer, Paige Turner got some paparazi action this time around.

Tawdry made herself comfortable on our host, Mr. Moore's lap. We'd make great pets, no?

Our glamourpuss, Mia Sophia, kicked of the night with a song in French and fur.

Our audience accesorised suitably with ears and tails and plenty of perk. Here are a striking pair of art monkeys and resident anthropologists - Niki on the left is writing a thesis on the movement that is Dr. Sketchy's Anti-Art School, can you get any more dedicated?

Mia Sophia and Tawdry Trainwreck primped and posing.

Cat fight!

This was followed by various cavorting and kitteh antics, and a well earned cat nap.

With the aid of a little whiskery treat Mia performed quite the feat...

Three hoop hooplaah had our audience enthralled.

It's all fun and games till the booze runs out....

One of our favourite illustrations of the evening - the challenge? Draw Mia as your favourite kitty character.

Mia Sophia

A little yarn-bondage to tie the evening up?

The cat's out of the box!

For more photos of our final session for the year, visit us on the official Dr Sketchy.com page or check out our albums on facebook.

Many thanks to our wonderful sponsors, who we couldn't have done this without - the Flying Burrito Brothers, Absolution Tattoo and Body Piercing and Madame Butterfly's Vintage Style Boutique.

Also a huge thanks to our gracious hosts, Goodbye Blue Monday, our dedicated photographers Paige Turner and Ryan Franicevic and all our brilliant helpers throughout the year!
We hope Santa-Claws brings you all you want for xmas and more!
