Doctor Who? Doctor Sketchy!

Is that a sonic screwdriver in your pocket? Or are you just happy to see me? 

It was a night for all Whovians, the legendary tardis landed on Dr. Sketchy's stage for this episode. We were treated to two performers in this double billing – the marvellous Purple Rose and the fantastic Mr. Heaphy. 

These sketchy time lords provided the tonic for our art monkey's winter blues and intergalactic woes.

For Mr. Heaphy's performance, the tardis descended and an altercation with yet another devlish dalek followed. There was some super-human skills exhibited, and lots of laughs!

When the first Doctor regenerated, there was a moment's confusion, where we had two versions of our dear doctor sharing the stage. Now we all know that you have two options when you meet your doppleganger....

 We explored them both...

RUB-A-DUB-DUB

RUB-A-DUB-DUB, with Willow Noir in the tub!

We're used to getting into hot water, but now it's time to clean up our act. For this Sketchy session we'll be working up a lather with the help of the fabulous Willow Noir. Splish, splash, she'll be taking a bath – and we'll get to sketch her… and shower her with applause.

This is a life drawing class like no other… Drinking, drawing and squeaky clean women *cough cough*.

Pack your rubber duckies and bring a towel - it's going to be a loofah minute!

Smash Palace Hotties

Our Biker Babes pop up sketchy's was a rev-roaring success. Art monkeys filled the bus at Smash Palace and proceeded to sketch up a storm as Tawdry and Juju posed with sneers, snarls and sass.

Our ar(s)tsy antics were met with much interest and admiration from those less accustomed to our escapades

All aboard the babe bus! Art monkeys packed the bus for a tootin' good time.

Rosie Reckless fronted our gang of biker babes and made sure the night was conducted with due rowdiness.

Bikes, Beer, Babes and Bad Attitudes.

Safety first! Close quarters led to some unusual poses and interesting angles.

There were biker babes of the bearded variety at the bar on the night. Juju and Tawdry made use of a couple of bike night regulars from the Quake City Rumblers  as posing props. 

There was always going to be plenty of cheek from these gals!

Tawdry showed us all one of her hidden talents - levit(it)ation!

The audience was truly captivated by Juju!

For our final poses we spilled outside and took over the bar! Art monkeys lined the decking to sketch our brave models in the autumnal air.

 The bar staff made sure there were some hotties for our, er... hotties post-posing.With their second winter on the way, Smash Palace have stocked up on hot water bottles, blankets and outdoor heaters, as well as their famous mulled cider to banish the winter blues.

The long arm of the law stopped by to make sure we were keeping our scandalous antics legal. Being both badass AND smokin' hot is probably illegal somewhere, but not in our town (yet).

We really enjoyed being reunited with Johnny and the crew from Smash Palace; it brought back memoriesof old times at Goodbye Blue Monday and reminded us of how far we've come since the early days! Our presence at the bar garnered a lot of interest and excitement from those unfamiliar with Dr. Sketchy's - we'll be expecting a few new faces at our next event.

Biker Babes on the Bus

Ladies and gentlemen, start your engines… and join us for a very special Dr. Sketchy's session. It's a night of drinking and drawing, onboard the bus at Smash Palace.

Tawdry and Juju will be our models, muses and bad influences. It's 'Bike Night' at Smash Palace but these rebels are taking their tassels aboard the bus. Toot toot! There'll be plenty of cheek with these foxy floozies about!

They'll strut their stuff down the aisle of the bus, on top of the tables and in your face. Be prepared for a very different sketchy experience. You'll get to draw from many different angles but you may need to move around, perhaps to give up your seat for our biker babes.

For this Sketchy's, no pre-sale tickets are required, but please bring a suggested donation of $5 to fuel your local sketchy girls.

Sketching begins at 7pm. Bring your own art supplies, but this time keep them simple as we may move about. Inks and paints may be prone to spilling once we get rolling.

Sketch and Shimmy

Dr. Sketchy's Anti-Art School proudly presents Sketch and Shimmy. It's a night of drinking and drawing … with dancing dames!

Nova and Aaralyn of TribalDiva sway their way onto the sketchy stage. They'll perform a blend of tribal and fusion belly dancing. It promises to be one hafla night!

Bring along your own art supplies to capture the beautiful lines and movements of these talented performers, and their stunning, sumptuous costumes.
